In search of a different rhythm
Kayleigh Groenendijk (1985) is a photographer who shares moments of stillness in a world that rarely pauses. Her work invites a slower rhythm: one of presence, softness and attention.
With a background in fast-paced corporate marketing, she knows momentum well. But over time, she craved something else: space to breathe, to observe and to reconnect. A different rhythm with more presence, softness and attention. Photography became her way to pause. A way to feel more, not just do more.
Less intervention, more observation
She works with natural light and minimal gear, following a simple approach: less intervention, more observation. Her process is intuitive and grounded in trust. Trust of the moment, the subject, and the story waiting to be seen.
Her images are born on empty roads, golden hours and silent trails. They don't shout, but make you zoom in and look longer. Each frame is like a soft conversation between motion and stillness.
She lives and works in cycles: periods of deep focus and forward motion, followed by time to wander and to travel. To simply be.
Photography became her pause button. A way to connect with herself on long hikes and beautiful safari's.
That's where her photography found its voice.
